Sports Sales Director
POSITION OVERVIEW
This is a Sales Position!!!! Sales Director will be responsible for the Sale of Basketball, Football, and Soccer programs. Programs include, but are not limited to: league registrations, tournaments, instructional programs, and sport specific camps.
JOB OBJECTIVES
- Maximize year ‘round adult and youth sport league revenues
- Maximize year ‘round adult and youth sport tournament revenues
- Maximize year ‘round sport training and instructional programs participation
- Maximize year ‘round sport facility rental utilization
- Maximize sport revenue / facility utilization
- Insure customer satisfaction
- Maximize customer retention
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Team Recruitment & Retention
- Develop and execute targeted sales plan to recruit new Youth and Adult teams (in all assigned sports).
- Contact previous teams to obtain renewal
- Coordinate marketing efforts with GM and other sales directors
- Be the internal ambassador of facility
- Be visible and known to players / coaches

Encourage current league customers to:
- Renew each session
- Play in multiple leagues
- Expand family participation in multiple programs
- Recruit new customers
- Encourage beginning instructional clinic participants to form teams when appropriate
- Promote individuals to participate in instructional programs
2. Administration
- Work closely with Operations Director to optimize facility utilization & scheduling
- Work closely with Operations Director to ensure qualified, trained referees, officials, and instructors for all sport programs
- Evaluate recruitment and retention efforts and report positives / suggest modifications
3. Facility Operations
- Fulfill facility MOD responsibilities
CHARACTERISTICS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
- College degree; or minimum of 4 years equivalent work experience.
- Passion for sports.
- Willing to work nights and weekends because he/she understands that can positively impact revenue. Able to work frequent evening or weekend hours as needed to ensure proper facility operations.
- Outgoing and confident personality.
- Good public speaker; loves to “get out in the community and talk to people about the facility.”
- Entrepreneurial attitude. Will guide planning process, seek approval from General Manager and then “run with the ball aggressively.”
- Wants to be evaluated according to performance rather than how many hours worked. Good time management skills.
- Is creative and very well organized.
- Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills. Can prepare Microsoft Word document and basic Excel spreadsheet.
COMPENSATION
- Base salary plus commission structure based on revenue generation.
- Allowance for major medical health care insurance provided for individual. Spouse and family plan available at employee expense.
- Flexible schedule.
- Two weeks vacation first year, earned at rate of 1.2 days per month. Vacation must be used in full or half-day equivalents.
